About Us

Friends was founded by the Junior Service League of Gallatin. Through annual membership donations, memorials and fundraising events, Friends has gifted approximately $65,000 to the library since its inception. Other moneys are reserved to fulfill our commitment to the Downtown Library building fund and to purchase new books for its spacious shelves. In addition to fully funding the Summer Reading Program for children and teens, we have funded a book drop, thousands of dollars in books and periodicals, technological improvements, furniture, and other community services.

Mission Statement

The Friends is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to enhance the services and programs that our library provides in order to meet the educational and enrichment needs of the community.

Overall Objectives

  • Raise funding to support present and future growth in programming and material needs at the Library. These funds will be dispersed twice a year.
  • Develop a community awareness plan that identifies the goals and activities of the Library.
  • Help in the development and implementation of annual projects through our membership drive, fundraising events, etc.
